Day 8: May 15th 2013

I was so incredibly tired last night I was too lazy to do my post, so that is happening for you now!

Yesterday was not my best day…

Started off okay…

1. My usual hot water with lemon to start my day

2. Coffee (Just a small cup) Next week I’m going cold turkey…hot tea only!

3. A cold cup of green tea

4. My new favorite, strawberry and cucumber water

5. My smoothie(too much Kale today, but still good)

6. My usual, Green Tea and Every Day Detox (I often mix this up a bit, but I usually have about 4 cups of my different teas a day. ‘Yogi’ teas and ‘Traditional Medicinals’ are my favs )

Lunch consisted of leftovers(pasta salad and quiche) once again.

Workout was a little weird today…

I ran like I usually do on Wednesdays, but had to cut it a little short because my stupid leg started throbbing. I swear if this leg injury ever goes away I will be a happy camper. About 8 months ago I was training for a half marathon and I decided to go for a long run one day…a part of the course I ran was grass and as I was running through the grass portion my foot got caught in a tiny whole, I didn’t fall or anything, I just kind of lost my balance, but ever since then my right leg is constantly throbbing when I run. I was able to finish the half marathon(barely) I even took a month off of running after the marathon, but the pain has never gone away completely. It’s just frustrating to have a passion for running and then have something like this hinder you from doing it as often as I would like to.

Anyways, when I got home from my short and painful run, I was so exhausted…like completely exhausted. I was complaining to my husband and he suggested that I take the rest of the night off and not finish the rest of my workout schedule. Now you should know…I am the type that feels so very guilty if I do not workout…I realize this just causes unnecessary stress and in turn just makes me fatter, but I just cannot seem to overcome it!  Anyways, after much convincing by my wonderful husband I took the rest of the night off…it was actually very nice, I think it IS necessary to listen to your body and rest when it is begging you to. Our bodies need to repair at some point right? So although I plan to finish this challenge I will do so while listening to my body.

Dinner was yummy, I just had a small piece of fish tonight, not very hungry!

Salmon, Brown Rice with Veggies and Artichoke, which since I didn’t eat any last night I am looking forward to eating it tonight!
